3 New Beats for March

by Tyler Smith on March 26, 2013

What’s up world. I’ve got a few new beats for your listening pleasure. As always, if you’re in the market for a dope instrumental for your next project, just hit me up. As of the writing of this article, these three tracks are available for purchase as an Exclusive License. Now that the business is out of the way, let’s talk about the tracks…

Jesus He Knows I’m Right:
Jesus He Knows I’m Right

This one is a synth, hip hop, trap flip of a Phil Collins / Genesis tune. Here’s the original, so you can hear the difference:

I was after the groove, as well as the vocal sample “I been talking to Jesus, all my life…” However, when I put the half time 808s on this I noticed that the full time drums didn’t mesh the way I wanted them to, so I had to do a fair amount of chopping in order to get the sample to feel as though it was played at half time in the first place. I’m pretty happy with the results.

Everything I Miss At Home:

The original song is just plain dope. The content is a bit unfortunate, but the groove is so amazing. I just wanted to really take this and make it bang. Here’s the original song by Cherrelle:

I pretty well took the original groove and just added my flavor on top. However, once you hit the verse, I threw in some chops, so as to keep things from resolving, so that chorus would have more impact. Again, pretty happy with the results.

Back to It:
Back to It

I’m back to my funk roots on this one. After all that sampling and trap style drums, it was time to go back to the real deal, synth funk with it.

I really hope you dig these like I do. Until next time…
